Ramona, Revisited

When I was in elementary school, I was obsessed with the Ramona Quimby books. I'm going to read them again now at age 28 in order and reminisce. I think I must have a pretty good memory because I did really well on this Ramona quiz(except for the Ramona's World questions, which I am pretty sure is new!). I'm just hoping that my library has the old school copies that I used to read because I see that now the artwork and everything is all updated. Let me know how you do on the quiz!

Neutrogena Wave Review

I received the Neutrogena Wave cleansing system to try and review today. It kinda follows the "vibrating" trend that has been so popular in toothbrushes lately, but while I LOVE my vibrating toothbrush, I couldn't say as much for the Wave. Here are my negatives and positives of this product:

Positives

• Really cute packaging and color. Bright pink pod-type thing that is water proof for shower use.
• The pads smell great.

Negatives

• I honestly don't think it vibrated enough to do much.
• The pad took a long time to get foamy.
• The cleanser on the pad wasn't anything special.
• The head was too big to get in nooks and crannies like the creases of the nose.
• I am used to one cleanser removing my eye makeup and washing my face. You can't use this near eyes.

All in all, I don't really think this is worth the $12.99 price tag. I am not sure how much replacement pads are or how long the batteries last. I prefer some good old fashioned elbow grease with my muslin cloth!

Hot Tranny Mess!

I didn't even watch Project Runway, but I watch enough Talk Soup to know who this guy is. I am constantly getting the urge to say "hot mess" now (especially with that voice like Amy Poehler!)

Vermont Country Store

I have received the Vermont Country Store catalog for some time and can spend hours poring over it. I love anything old fashioned and the catalog is like crack to me. I have only recently discovered their website and love it for the same reasons and then some....it's hilarious! The descriptions crack me up! A few examples...

Club Pogo!

So, I wanted to tell you all about a little obsession of mine, Pogo. It is a place where you can play games(really cute, fun ones--Classics and twists on old classics), and chat with friends and other players. Anyone can play on Pogo for free but I am here to tell you why it is worth the money to sign up for Club Pogo(and no, I am not getting paid for this, I just love it that much!)

• You get a "mini". It is kind of like an avatar, but you get many more choices and you can shop for them at the "mini-mall".
• You can play for "badges". Every Wednesday, Pogo releases badges that you can try to win. They choose the game and the challenge. These are very fun to collect and will make you look forward to Wednesday a little more!

• You collect "tokens". Basically Pogo's form of currency, you earn tokens for playing these games. You can buy stuff at the mini-mall,enter drawings, or just hoard them so all of the others on Pogo are impressed!

I admire their spunk...

I love saving money,have all the copies of the Tightwad Gazette,love my Simple Living Guide and am actively working on developing a self-sustaining household, so when I saw this video I had high hopes. Like I said, I admire their spunk, but they are cutting costs in the wrong ways! It looks like food they eat is junk! Thrifting and comparison shopping yes---expired meat and processed food---NO!!!! The reason they have never gotten sick is probably because they are pickled inside!

Things I've been checking out this week...

• The dogs from the Michael Vick case. This man is a sicko. Please check this out and trust that these dogs can be the best pets in the world.
• The 30 day Total Health Makeover. People call me crazy, but this book has changed my life. I don't necessarily LOVE Marilu Henner, just her guidelines for eating and health.
• Truly shameful to admit, but The Gauntlet 3. I mean, I REALLY can't stand some of these people! Evan and Kenny are 20 something girl-haters, Frank is, to put it nicely, a whining wussie, and CT is SUCH a prick to his girlfriend Diem. This is a guilty pleasure that isn't always such a pleasure.
